Under the Strategic Defence Review of November 1998, the 10^th and 4^th Battalions, The Parachute Regiment merged to form a new Battalion, the 4^th Battalion, with the Battalion HQ located at Pudsey, Yorkshire. Re-designated as: 4^th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. 10 Company of 4^th Battalion, The Parachute Regiment remain in London.
